Happy May Day
People, flowers, wildlife and pets are out in force.
Fine weather to sit with your dogs.
Or your birds.
Here’s a closer look at one of six happy parakeets on their outing to the river.
Fine weather, too, for human lovebirds.
Or for sitting alone near the forsythia.
Wherever you go and whomever you’re with, keep an eye out for color.
And enjoy the flowers before they go.
The brief life of flowers, and the word “enjoy,”puts me in mind of William Blake’s poem, Eternity:
He who binds to himself a joy
Does the winged life destroy;
But he who kisses the joy as it flies
Lives in eternity’s sun rise.
